About Casey

Casey Miller began her journey as a photographer when she was just eight years old when she took a trip to England, and her father placed a camera in her hands and told her to shoot whatever she wanted. Her obsession continued from there when her father framed one of those pictures and hung it on the mantel. From there, she attended Northwest school of the arts where she originally started as a theater/musical theater major. Her sophomore year, she decided to take a photography class for fun. She ended up falling in love with the art all over again, and continued through her senior year.

Her first gallery took place at the Light Factory in 2007 where she and her classmates displayed their work. The following year, she declared her major at UNC Charlotte as Photography, and is currently on her way to getting her BFA in Photography.

She is currently taking annual trips to Haiti with an organization called Bless Back Worldwide, where she travels with a medical team to aid the Cambry orphanage and surrounding communities. As the group's photographer, she enjoys getting to see first hand, the cultural difference that takes place there. She hopes to be able to continue these trips after she graduates from UNC Charlotte.
